I have a niece who I adore and who has some special health needs. I bought this as a gift and it just evokes happy and soothing thoughts and emotions.the music would appeal to any age but it had a specail meaning for my niece and soothing her.
I am a Pre-K teacher and was looking for a new nap time CD that even I could tolerate.I found this and listened to the samples. I bought it and completely satisfied. The music is soothing and completely calming.I think the kids love it as much as I do. My only little complaint is that it is not all instrumental, but the singing isn't overpowering.it blends in with all the other songs.
I purchased this for my sister and 3 month old nephew. This CD was especially important for me to get her because she works with refugees from other countries and knows many people of all ethnicities. My sister likes the songs (they're fairly adult friendly and yet mellow and unique) and my nephew likes them, too. I had purchased this CD quite a while ago for myself and wanted my sister to have a copy. So I figured, what better way to get something with songs from everywhere and that puts a baby to sleep, too. Also with the CD is a small little world map that shows the location of each country of every song's origin.
This lullaby CD is so relaxing and great for babies, children, and adults. I would highly recommend this to anyone. My daughter and I have listened to it every night at bedtime since she was born almost 11 months ago, and I still enjoy it very much. I just purchased another copy of the CD as a baby shower gift for my sister-in-law. My only complaint is that I don't particularly care for the vocals on track 5, so we usually skip over that one. The rest of the songs are lovely.
It's not just for children either. The hospital had this CD available and it was so soothing to her, we had to have it for her recovery. I initially became aware of this CD when my granddaughter was in the hospital following open heart surgery. The music is very soothing and unique. Since that time, I have purchased numerous CDs for everyone I know having a baby. It makes a great shower gift. I'm ordering 3 more today - my hair stylist is having a baby and I'm taking this to my next appointment and I'll have a couple more on hand. You won't be disappointed.
